Established in 2018, Horizon Community Planning works with citizens, planning commissions, boards, councils, and stakeholders to develop community plans. We write local zoning and development regulations and guidelines to achieve the vision of the plans. Horizon Community Planning is in the business of solutions for local governments.
What We Do
Horizon Community Planning is a local government consulting firm that specializes in zoning and development code updates. However, our experience covers a wide spectrum of the field of planning, from the initial vision to final compliance inspections. While we work primarily with local governments, we understand the priorities of citizens, advocacy groups, community stakeholders, business people, developers, and builders.

- Zoning and Development Regulations- The regulatory framework for achieving a community's vision. Land use regulation, building requirements, development standards, and clear procedures.

- Code Enforcement- Education, information, and coordination with legal counsel and law enforcement.
Unique Perspective
We also serve in administrative and enforcement roles, sometimes with
ordinances we drafted ourselves. This all-encompassing experience
provides a unique perspective to writing zoning and development
codes, as we know what works and what does not. Advice based on
experience is where the true value is provided!
